Meet The Guide

Stan O’Connor is a Manhattan resident originally from small-town upstate New York (he doesn’t sound like a Nu Yawka). Married, dog and cat owner, inveterate walker, cyclist and explorer, he loves history, talking to strangers, cracking puns, and showing people around New York, the greatest city in the world. After working for several years in news and PR, he became a licensed sightseeing guide in 1995. Since then he has given tours by bus, bike, on foot and even on pedicabs. Stan loves a good chocolate and worked up the Chocolate Lovers’ Tour of Midtown Manhattan. He knows the ins and outs of Chinatown, and its shops and restaurants. He volunteered after September 11, and tells personal stories of the World Trade Center. He goes to the Statue Of Liberty at least 100 times a year. He has designed walking tours of Central Park, High Line Park, Greenwich Village, and Fort Tryon Park at the north end of Manhattan, home to the medieval-themed Cloisters Museum. He’d love to meet you.
