In case you're thinking that you could see the same sights by walking around on your own (because prior to the tour I was thinking that same thing) - not so, by any means. We were able to see and hear about things that we would never have found on our own. All in all, the reason I went to NYC was to see exactly what I saw - to get a glimpse of the people and places affected, and those that tried to help. The tour itself was remarkable and we three are SO glad we took the tour. Visited November 2011GigiB0st0n (Senior Reviewer) From Trip AdvisorNovember 19th 2011

In our small group we really enjoyed our tour thanks to our great tourguide Denis Barbarito. If you can have him you will surely get a deep and off the walked pave (if this is possble in nyc...) tour where you will get a good underestanding of in our case the west village. Our tour guide (Kevin) did an excellent job with our two-hour walking tour of Ground Zero today. He was very informative and he also told us some interest stories about the many heroes from 9/11. I was with my 18-year-old son and 25-year-old nephew and they both enjoyed the tour too! Visited December 2011D Kellie C (Reviewer) From Trip AdvisorDecember 28th 2011

The Hell's Kitchen Pub Crawl with our tour guide Dennis Barbarito took us well beyond the facade of the typical NYC. With Dennis, I was able to take a look and appreciate the intricate architecture from the old New York in conjunction with learning of its rich history. With not too much walking, and the opportunity to meet some great new people, I do not regret spending the time or money on the Hell's Kitchen Pub Crawl. What a better way to learn about the big apple than behind the scenes from a true New Yorker?!Lauren1222 From Trip AdvisorJanuary 5th 2012

At first I thought it was going to be like all other tours, one where they take you to attractions you could go yourself and read off information cards. But this one was different. A first hand account expressing the hardships and struggle was foretold by Michael Dillinger. A touching experience different from everyday tours, a must for someone looking deeper into the 9/11 tragedy. Visited December 2011Uphilch From Trip AdvisorJanuary 9th 2012

At the start of the tour Sam declared that "by the second pub, I'm largely irrelevant." As I look around at the seven people who started tonight as strangers and who are now laughing and chatting, I can see what he means.Rob McFarland Sydney Morning HeraldOctober, 2009
